The phrases above appear to be two obvious but at the same time unconnected statements. And yet they are giving us the key to understanding something that few people have clear: it is possible to agriculture without phytosanitary. But that's possible doesn't mean it's easy...

Phytosanitary products are used in agriculture in order to eliminate pests, diseases and weeds that compete with the crop. Its use tends to start from a rather debatable premise, simple and reductionist, as it is to identify the simple presence of some insect, mite, fungus or weed as sufficient reason (and sometimes, not even necessary) to apply a chemical treatment. This incomplete view of agriculture despises, ignores or even raises the logical approach of analyzing the reason for the emergence of these problems. is a headache solved by taking an aspirin? is a pest controlled by a phytosanitary treatment? In both cases, the answer is a "yes, but in the short term". If the headache is due to poor graduation of the glasses, or to a cervical clamp, the pill we take will not solve the problem definitively. If the pest of the crop is due to an imbalance in fertilization or extreme environmental conditions, the treatment will not serve to make it disappear.
